About
“There is only one difference between a madman and me. I am not mad.” – Salvador Dali
In the beginning…
Katherine was born, to be precise, at approximately 11:29pm on the 21st July, 1988, in the maternity ward of St James’ Hospital, Leeds. A Monoamniotic-Monochorionic twin, her birth was almost filmed for the factual medical drama of the same name, but was quickly replaced with a much more gripping birth of triplets in the same ward – though her case is still mentioned by the doctor in the episode which aired on television, thus announcing her arrival to millions of people across the country. Maybe one day she’ll find that episode and upload the clip in question to this very site, but for now let’s consider it lost within the dusty land of The Box of VHS Tapes That Has Been Cellotaped in the Loft For Several Years.
And now…
After studying film, photography, and media for two years (and one of Psychology) at the Leeds College of Art and Design, Katherine decided against taking her education any further and, instead, chose to work full time as a freelance writer and photographer. She’s also writing a novel which may never get published.
Lovely…
Lovely is not an internet sensation. It will not make the headlines. It is simply a place for a rather idiosyncratic writer/photographer who thinks too much about everything and knows far too much about Ignaz Semmelweis to talk about what’s going on inside her head. She’s a philosopher, historian, a dabbler in the arts, a hypochondriac, a Dales rambler, a failed musician, and a technology geek to name but a few things. In another life, Katherine would have been a male snooker player. In this one, she is the Jack of all trades, but a master of none.
